About

Richard DeGrandpre is an independent scholar of drugs and other "technologies of the self"

He is a past senior editor at Adbusters magazine and author of three books (as highlighted here). Many of his writings focus on the ecology of the mental environment, emphasizing the inter-connectedness between brain, behavior and culture. For the past decade he has been at work on a history of drugs in twentieth century America, which appeared early in 2007 (read the Preface).

When not writing, his primary preoccupations are glass blowing, web design and, alas, ipod repairs.
